Do pages have a table of contents at the top?

Goal

Ensure that users can scan the contents of the page and easily jump to specific page sections.

Why this matters

For people with cognitive or neurological disabilities, a table of contents provides a clear outline of what they will find on the page, aiding comprehension. For people with visual disabilities or physical disabilities who rely on the keyboard to navigate, the ability to jump to a topic of interest is a time-saver.

How to test

• Tab to the table of contents.
  • Does the Table of Contents reflect the headings ( <h1> through <h5> on the page?)
  • Is every link able to be accessed by the keyboard?
  • Is every link properly linked to the correct heading or section?
